Description

A delicious smoked cream cheese appetizer topped with spices.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (To prevent sticking)
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar or sweetener
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the smoker to 200 degrees.
  2. Drizzle a cast iron skillet or metal pan with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  3. Optional: Score the top of the cream cheese by making shallow, diagonal cuts across it, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch apart, creating a diamond-shaped pattern.
  4. Rub the spices onto the cream cheese, seasoning all 4 sides. Add more spices if needed.
  5. Place the cream cheese in the pan and put it in the smoker. Smoke for 1-2 hours or until the cream cheese has a smoky flavor (approximately 2 hours).
  6. Allow the cream cheese to cool before removing it from the pan and serving.
  7. Be careful if you don’t want it to break apart.
