Description

This garlic butter salmon recipe is simple yet delicious, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 fillets salmon (about 6 oz each)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon slices, for serving

Instructions

  1. If you’re using the oven, preheat it to 375°F (190°C). If using a skillet, set it over medium-high heat.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. If baking, melt the butter in a small bowl and set aside.
  4. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant but not browned.
  5. Mix in the fresh lemon juice and lemon zest, stirring to combine.
  6. Place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin side down. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. If baking, place the salmon in a baking dish and pour the butter mixture over the top. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
  7. In the last 2 minutes of cooking, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the pan to let it melt and create a luscious sauce.
  8. Remove the salmon from the heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley for color and added flavor.
  9. Arrange the salmon on plates, garnished with lemon slices for a refreshing touch.
