Description
This garlic butter salmon recipe is simple yet delicious, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 fillets salmon (about 6 oz each)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- Zest of 1 lemon
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Lemon slices, for serving
Instructions
- If you’re using the oven, preheat it to 375°F (190°C). If using a skillet, set it over medium-high heat.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. If baking, melt the butter in a small bowl and set aside.
- Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant but not browned.
- Mix in the fresh lemon juice and lemon zest, stirring to combine.
- Place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin side down. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. If baking, place the salmon in a baking dish and pour the butter mixture over the top. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
- In the last 2 minutes of cooking, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the pan to let it melt and create a luscious sauce.
- Remove the salmon from the heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley for color and added flavor.
- Arrange the salmon on plates, garnished with lemon slices for a refreshing touch.
Notes
- For a low-carb option, serve the salmon with a side of steamed vegetables.
- This recipe can be doubled easily for serving a larger crowd.
