Description
Tender and flavorful oxtails cooked in an Instant Pot for a comforting meal.
Ingredients

- 6 oxtails (frozen or defrosted)
- 1 tsp salt and pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1/4 tsp dry sriracha (optional, for heat)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3/4 cup beef broth (or water)
Instructions
- Mix together seasonings, and rub on to outside on all sides of your oxtails to season well.
- Place olive oil in Instant Pot and set to saute. Place oxtail in instant pot and brown on all sides. Press cancel when done.
- Remove pieces from pot and place a metal trivet into the bottom of the pot. Place pieces on top of that trivet.
- Pour broth or water into the bottom of pot so they can steam.
- Lock lid and steam valve, set to high pressure for 45 minutes. Do a quick release when done.
- Carefully remove the metal trivet and transfer cooked oxtails to a plate or use in a soup or stew.
Notes
- This recipe can be used to create a rich broth or sauce for soups and stews.
- Adjust the heat level by modifying the amount of dry sriracha.
