Description

A fresh and delicious Caprese salad featuring cherry tomatoes, marinated mozzarella, and basil.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound cherry tomatoes
  • 12 to 16 ounces marinated mozzarella balls (aka bocconcini or ciliegine)
  • 8 fresh basil leaves (or to taste)
  • to taste Kosher salt
  • to taste ground black pepper
  • to taste balsamic glaze or reduction (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse tomatoes and basil. Cut about half of the cherry tomatoes in half and place in a serving bowl.
  2. Cut about half of the cherry tomatoes in half and place in a serving bowl. Add mozzarella balls (marinade and all, drain lightly if desired) and stir gently until well combined.
  3. Tear basil leaves and place them over the top. Sprinkle with Kosher salt and fresh ground pepper to taste.
  4. Drizzle with balsamic glaze (optional). Serve at room temperature.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of basil and seasoning based on personal preference.
  • For extra flavor, consider letting the salad sit for a few minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
